November, November

Hi again!  November, November, you were not supposed to be this busy, remember??  HAHA!

I am still getting ready for the Young Women in Excellence Program that my girls are doing next week.  I still need to create the programs sometime in the next week and get that together!  At least the invitations to the families went out on time and they looked AWESOME!!!!  I am also playing two piano pieces for the program which I am super excited about because the girls sound like angels when they sing! Oh, and by the way, just a side note...I have filled all of my afternoon time slots during the week with my piano students!  I now have.....41 STUDENTS!!  I can't believe the amount of scheduling and rescheduling I do during the week!  I am working with about 50 different schedules and I can't believe sometimes how I can get everyone to have their lessons each week...I still haven't had a week where every single student has come...but we are getting close!

Chris is still working, GREAT!  : )  He is still doing a lot with the boy scouts and is getting ready for a campout to go on with them during this month.  Chris has been a wonderful husband lately!  Ask him about his Christmas present...and then tell me what a wonderful wife I am!  lol!

Chris and I are excited to have our nephew, Makai spend the night this weekend.  Makai gets to play video games with us all night long, while enjoying some favorite snack foods and delighting in our company!

We are also looking forward to having everyone come over to our house for Thanksgiving this year!  I am looking forward to receiving all kinds of praise and glory for all of the wonderful food I am going to prepare!  I took the day before Thanksgiving off from piano lessons, just so I can mentally prepare for the next day...there will be a game plan of how to cook everything and hopefully it all turns out alright!  (Hopefully everyone will be sooo impressed with my cooking for them that they decide to treat me really nice on Christmas this year...haha).

Lacey, Lacey, Lacey....she has been an expensive dog the last few days!  On Monday morning, I woke up at 5:30am to a bedroom full of dog vomit and diarrhea. My husband and in-laws had let Lacey eat a ham bone on Saturday night....and that is apparently what happens when a dog eats a ham bone!  I FREAKED OUT!  Poor Lacey...and poor me having to clean up the mess with Chris!  Lacey was rushed to the vet as soon as the office opened.  They took her and did an exam ($45), xrays to make sure the bone was not stuck in her digestive system ($155), blood work ($35), an IV ($90) and some other miscellaneous things....the grand total was $390!!!!  After all of those tests, all that they concluded was she was super dehydrated...DUH, folks, she spent the night vomitting and I did not let her have water in the morning because I was afraid they might need to do some kind of surgery on her...I could have given her water...but not $400 worth of it!  I was a little frustrated about all of the tests for a little dehydration...but AT LEAST Lacey is ok and she did not have to be put down...oh, and we had to borrow at steam cleaner to do the carpets because they were horrific...at least that was taken care of too...

So that has been our month so far.....  :)

It's been awhile...

Sorry, I know...you all want updates, but we have been so busy with, well, LIFE, I haven't even thought about posting in a long time!  :)

Chris started working at his new job the end of June.  He likes getting out of the house and feeling productive!  He is still working very closely with the Boy Scouts in our ward.  Chris has found his new love recently, AOE online.  It's his new favorite game to play while he is unwinding from work.

I have a grand total of 37 students now!  WOO HOO!  I only have a couple of spots open for new piano students in the afternoon available!  It's completely awesome to be wanted!  I am still teaching music at a local preschool, and the new school year started on 8/22/11.  So far my preschoolers have learned about the Brass family, the Woodwind family and the String family.  They have listened to Peter and the Wolf and Carnival of the Animals.  They have learned how to "Move it, Move it" (their favorite!).  I am busily getting ready to help put on the Young Women and Excellence program for our YW in our ward, coming up in November.  We have been planning, planning and planning!  I was asked to put together the invitations to invite the girl's families to come and the programs for the event that night.  I have also been asked to make my famous home-made-from-scratch angel food cakes...no one knows the delights of my culinary and baking skills in my ward yet...they shall soon see...haha!

Lacey's latest activities include, but are not limited to: walking outside, chasing lovebugs, chasing me, chasing anything, jumping on the bed, getting into the trash (she loves that one), meeting up with her doggie friends on our walks/joggs, jumping into our laps (thinking she is still a baby puppy), and did I mention getting into the trash frequently??  :)

Chris and I are looking forward to spending time with my family over the holidays and they can not come soon enough!  Can't wait to be home!

news, news, news

Ok, Ok.....I know it has been a while since the last post, but seriously people...we do have a life...lol!  Just kidding....there just hasn't been much to talk about on here!

Chris got offered a job!  He started work two days ago.  He is just in orientation and training right now, but it's paid so we're happy!  Chris is hoping that this job will help him get the necessary 3-5 years experience every place seems to want right now.  He also jut got back from scout camp with the boys from our church's troop and he seemed to have a really good time out there...so much so that he is talking about next year's camp already...come on boys...really??  I thought he would be happy to hang out with me again... :(  haha, guess not!  Scout camp is so much more exhilerating than boring old, Mrs. Wright.  Maybe if we set up the tent in our living room it would be more fun fo Chris and he would want to be home?  Good idea?  : P

I now have 26 piano students.  Business is a little slow over the summer because a lot of my students are taking a break to go on vacation...don't they realize that taking piano lessons is much more important than vacationing??? ; )  No, seriously, it's going really well.  Business will pick up in September again and I will be too busy to think about anything else, hopefully!  I am a little lonely now that Chris has been working full time.  It feels like I get to see him for like 2 minutes in the morning and then like 2 minutes when he gets home and then I am ready to call it a night!

Lacey is Lacey.  Still steals things out of the trash can, still begs to be let out to walk, still jumps on the furniture...she'll grow out of it...right?

March and stuff...

Been a while, yet again, but life is busy...

Chris and I went out with some of his lawyer friends to P.F. Changs!  I was so happy that I got to get out of the house and go out with my husband!  It was a really good time catching up with everyone and getting to eat food that Chris and I didn't have to prepare!

Chris has had a few boy scout campouts that he has had a lot of fun being at!  The last campout was at the church ranch and they stayed in cabins.  He helped the boys clear out some brush in the morning (their service project) and then they built a monkey bridge and all of the boys and a few adults successfully crossed the bridge.  Woo Hoo!  Chris has also been busy helping the boys raise money for scout camp.  They have been selling discount cards in front of the local grocery stores and have really done an awesome job!  The younger boys were so cute selling the cards...if we had the money, I would definitely give those boys some of it, just for being so cute!

While Chris is on his campouts, I have gotten to spend a lot of time with my mother-in-law.  We have had fun going to the Brevard Zoo and going to the Osceola County Fair.

I have been busy with teaching music classes and teaching my piano students!  I now have 18 students!  (YAY!)  I had 19, but unfortunately one of my students had to leave because her husband got an awesome job offer and they are moving out of state... :(  I am so happy for her though because she is moving closer to her family and that is totally great for them!  I am still running 3 times a week.  This morning I ran a 12 minute mile...my best yet!  I have also gotten into scrap booking.  I have now successfully completed 6 pages, 4 of Lacey and 2 of our honeymoon.

I can't believe it has almost been an entire year that Chris and I have been married...where does the time go?  Actually, I say that, but really, sometimes it feels like time is going by soooooo slow.  Other times...it flies by.  It flies by when I get to spend time with my family, but when it is just Chris and I...I feel like the seconds get longer and longer...maybe it is because I feel like I have nothing to do when I am not teaching piano or music lessons at the preschool...I guess I get bored easily.

Chris has a job interview with a law firm tomorrow.  It is a firm that does construction litigation.  PRAY THAT HE GETS IT!!!!

Life...

So we haven't updated in awhile...

Chris is still looking for a job...things are hopefully going to turn around soon.  He is still doing the title searches for the title company, but that seems to slowly be dwindling.  He is looking into possibly interning somewhere, or hopefully find a job elsewhere.  He is doing a really great job at being the Varsity Coach for our church's boy scout troop and he is really having a lot if fun doing it!

I now have 15 regular piano students and I am still teaching music at the preschool.  I am trying to get back into shape.  I have started running again and I am trying to do that at least 4 times a week.  I started last week, so we will see how that goes.  I started of doing my 2 miles in 32 minutes, then 30 minutes and then I finally did a 12:50 mile the end of last week, so it's a work in progress, but I like to think I am doing good.

Lacey is Lacey...she is still a puppy, still gerts into things she is not suppose to, but overall, she is a joy to have and I am glad that Chris decided to get her!  '

That's all for now!  :)

Christmas Update and other things...

So Christmas was a lot of fun!  We had Christopher's family over and I made most of the Christmas dinner!  I made homemade rolls, a cranberry Jell-O salad, mashed potatoes, the ham, and homemade pumpkin pies and a homemade apple pie.  Chris' sister brought over a delicious green bean casserole and his brother brought a yummy salad.  Dinner was sooooooo good!

We had a great time opening presents afterward and all of the boys (Chris and his brother included) had a nerf gun war in our great room downstairs.  Then the adults got together and played a trivia game which was really fun!

New Years was quiet...Chris had to wake me up at midnight to wish me a happy new year...I fell alseep!  :)

Then...it happened.  I found out on New Years day that I am allergic to mango skins.  Mangoes apparantly have the same toxins that are found in poison ivy and poison sumac...so now I have a beautiful poison ivy-looking rash all around my mouth and it is spreading up my left cheek and down my neck.  It itches sooooo bad!  I finally broke down and called my dad tonight to get a steroid presciption so that I can get rid of this awful rash I have had for 6 days.  Chris has been really great about this, he hasn't teased me too much!

Chris is still trying to put together a business deal with a relator in the area.  It is looking like this could be a great full time job for him, but we do not know anything for sure yet.  I am still teaching piano lessons and teaching music to the preschoolers.  They are sooo cute and they say the funniest things sometimes!  I wish I would have written the things they say down every day, but I haven't....oh well...they still make me smile! Lacey is Lacey...she like chewing on her chew toys, playing fetch and she really loves going for runs/walks around the neighborhood.  She definitely knows where we keep her leash and she goes to it every morning and gives me this look like "Can we go? Can we go?"  And if we get to go...SHE IS ESTATIC!  If not, then she pouts all day.

Wow! It's been awhile...

It has been a long time since my last post....sorry...that's life I guess!

So...a lot has happened since the last post!  I quit working full time at Ladybird Academy...now I am only the music teacher there and I teach on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the mornings.  Sometimes they call me to sub, but it doesn't happen often.  I now have 14 piano students, and each month, my business seems to be growing and growing.  I am so excited that I can work from home, it's just a lot easier!

Chris is working doing title reports still for the same company, but it is looking like he will be coming into a business deal in the next couple of weeks that will help to support us better.  He is going to business meetings all of the time now and he is working hard to make sure that this deal will be especially beneficial to us for the future.  I hope that it all gets worked out soon and we can start to be financially responsible for ourselves!

We had a trip up to Ohio to visit my family for Thanksgiving, and we really had a good time up there!  We got to visit with my parents and all of my siblings and my grandparents.  We had a fantastic Thanksgiving dinner, we did some Christmas shopping, we went to the Columbus Zoo for the lights and we watched the infamous Buckeye/Wolverine game.  The visit seemed too short, but hopefully we'll get to see my family again soon!

We just had a Christmas party at Chris' Aunt Greta and Uncle Jim's house yesterday, that we went to and really enjoyed!  We got to visit with Jim and Greta and Chris' brother, Russell and his wife, Tamra, and of course Chris' parents.  I also visited with his cousin April and her brother Dave and his wife Dot, who I met for the first time.  We had a really good time and we look forward to getting together with everyone again soon!

We are hosting Christmas lunch for Chris' side of the family on Christmas day this Saturday.  I know we will have a good time with that!

Here is our Christmas letter that we sent out to a few people...if you weren't on the list...SORRY!  We had to limit our choices of who we sent to, but if you want to read it...here it is!

Well, here is another holiday season and so begins the time to write awesome Christmas letters!  Here is just a little taste of what our year has looked like!

January this year started out a little rough with Chris returning back to Florida after his wonderful visit to Ohio. Both Chris and I had to get back into the swing of things with finishing up school.

February was awesome in a lot of ways! My father returned home from Iraq safely and we were both very grateful for that! My wedding dress arrived in perfect condition and Chris arrived in Ohio for Valentine’s Day weekend to pick up our marriage license! February was filled with last minute preparations for the wedding and all of that would never have gotten done if it wasn’t for the wonderful family (especially our mothers) we have.

March was wedding month! We got married in the Columbus Ohio Temple for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on March 20, 2010. We had a great reception afterward and then we went on our honeymoon on a Disney Cruise to the Bahamas! We had a wonderful time on the cruise ship! We returned to Orlando 4 days later and had another quiet reception at our home. Then, sadly, I had to go back to school in Ohio, and Chris had to finish up school in Orlando.

April was pretty quiet and uneventful for us. I visited Orlando for a weekend and Chris returned with me to Ohio. Chris had finished his semester at school and had a couple of weeks before his finals started so he spent that time studying with me in Ohio.

May was a good month for one reason…CHRIS GRADUATED FROM LAW SCHOOL!!!! Chris began his studies for the Florida Bar as well…a tedious endeavor!

June was also eventful! We got a beautiful Dalmatian puppy, who we named Lacey. I graduated from Ohio University with a specialized studies degree in Music and Child Development. Then, my family helped me pack up all of my things and I moved to Florida! I got to spend some wonderful time with my parents and my siblings at Disney World and the beach!

July was HOT!!! Chris took the Florida Bar at the end of the month and I got my first full time job working at a preschool as an assistant teacher, and the music teacher for the whole school! Chris also got a job working for an abstracting company researching real property.

August was exciting because I got my very first piano student! We also had an enjoyable family sleepover with Chris’ side of the family!

September brought about Chris’ birthday and even more piano students for me! Chris got the wonderful news that he passed the Florida Bar! He was admitted the Bar on September 22nd and was sworn in on September 30th.

October was my birthday month and a great weekend camping trip at Disney’s Fort Wilderness with Chris’ family. We got to go to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party dressed as students from Hogwarts! Chris and I were Ravenclaw! Chris was called to served as the Varsity Coach for Boy Scouts at our church and I was called to be the Relief Society Chorister. Chris and I also got the wonderful opportunity to spend some time with some of his extended family at Chris’ grandparents home in Palm Coast, Florida. We got to help fix up their backyard and hang out at the beach!

November brought about a lot of changes for us. I quit working full time at the preschool because I now have over 15 piano students! I needed some more time to commit to teaching piano lessons and hopefully that decision will bring about more business for me! Chris got his first job interview with a law firm, which is really exciting! We got to spend some time up in Ohio with my family for Thanksgiving! We had a great time going to the movies, having Thanksgiving dinner, watching the Ohio State game and heading to the Columbus Zoo to catch the Wild Lights! I also got an exciting opportunity to sing in a program called Women at the Well, as well as performing a piano arrangement of “Come Follow Me” for our church.

December is going to be a busy holiday season. We are looking forward to having our first Christmas together! We wish you all a very merry Christmas season and a Happy New Year!
