FIRST WEEK OF WORK OVER!!!

Well, I made it through the first week of work...I think I can do this. It was not so bad once I got to know the schedule and the children are actually listening to me and thinking of me as an authority figure now. I love them all so much! I almost think of them as my own kids, especially during that special time of the day when they take their naps and I get to just sit there and watch them sleep. They are adorable!

So, the first week is over and I am looking forward to next week!

On other notes, Chirstopher is still getting some orders for work, which we are so grateful for that! Lacey and I have been running together outside around our neighborhood. She is getting SOOO big, she weighs about 26 pounds now! When we picked her up, she only weighed 8 pounds! She can run really fast around the neighborhood, which I am hoping will keep me in shape! She is still not housebroken, but we are getting there...only one accident yesterday and that was because I couldn't get her outside fast enough! She ran to the back door and I chased after her, but apparantly, she really had to go...lol!

Christopher and I attended the Boy Scouts Court of Honor for our ward last Wednesday night. Christopher wore his Eagle Scout uniform and, little did he know, he got recognized for it at the ceremony. The bishop talked to the Young Men about how Christopher was the kind of man they should aspire to be: Eagle Scout, Married in the Temple, Graduated from Law School...it was nice to see Chris recognized for all of his hard work. Now, he will probably be called to do something in the Boy Scouts...I am hoping that I get to be in Young Women's...that would be really fun!

Until next time... :)

The working life

So....I started work this week. I am working at a preschool as an assistant teacher and the music teacher for the whole school. My first day was HORRIBLE!!!!!! I was with the 3 1/2 to 4 year old class. The children would not listen, they knew that the other teacher and I were brand new, so they pushed us to the limit! They were fighting, not sharing, telling me "no", punching, kicking, hitting, pulling hair...it was AWFUL!!! There were many times throughout the day that I wanted to say that I was through, and just quit. But, I made it through the day. I cried when I got home. I told my husband that I wanted to quit the job because it was so bad. The other teacher I was working with that day called me that night to tell me that she had quit the job. I was surprised! I knew she had a rough day too, but I did not think that she would quit. But, I completely understand why she did. It was a rough day.

The next day was easier. The director of the preschool put me with somebody who knew the program there and has been working there for awhile. I was in the 3-3 1/2 year old classroom. These children were practically angels compared to the other classroom! I had a much better day. That was also the first day that I taught music classes to the entire school! I loved the VPK classroom (the year before kindergarten class). They loved to follow directions and they could remember the things I taught them! It was almost like teaching for an elementary school, which is what I originally wanted to do. The rest of the classes did fine, and everyone in the school got a special music stamp for doing so well!

Yesterday, I only worked from 3-6:45pm. The children in my class were angels again! Only one little boy was misbehaving, and that was only not sharing the toys.

I think I will be ok with this job. Now, I wish I would get my first paycheck soon! haha...it doesn't come until September 3...that seems so far away!

Smallville and things...

So, Christopher has many of the seasons of Smallville on DVD, and I have recently gotten into them. I used to watch episodes when they were on ABC Family, but I haven't seen all of the episodes and I definitely have not watched them in order. I am almost done with the first season...I am hooked!

Christopher and his brother, Russell, went through the DVD "collection" today, before Russell and his wife move out of our house. It was so funny watching them argue over the DVD's like two little kids who can't share. In the end...Chris and I are going to have to buy a lot of DVD's that were already in the collection, but are now moving with Russell...I am ok with that...well...all except the Harry Potter movies...I might just have to steal them back and give them to them gradually as we update our collection to Blue Ray discs...SHHH...don't tell....lol!

I have my first official meeting with the preschool I am teaching at on Saturday...excited and nervous...this is my first "grown up" job...the first time in my life where I HAVE to get up at 7:30 in the morning every morning and go to work...at least there will be a pay check coming with that...not a very big one....but a paycheck none the less.

No title...can't think of anything witty today

Christopher and I will actually be going to our own church today! We got to sleep in a little, because church does not start until 1pm this year. Hopefully I will not be asked to speak in sacrament meeting anytime soon...I still do not like speaking in public.

I have a piano student finally!!! I am so excited to teach piano! I will be teaching a little girl who is starting kindergarten this fall. Her lessons are on Monday nights. Hopefully she will tell all of her friends about her awesome piano teacher and we can get some more business going.

I finally have my bathroom set up the way I like it! Christopher went with me to Home Depot yesterday and we bought a thin plastic sheet thingy so we could set that over top of the shelves in the linen closet in our bathroom. Now I can store all of my awesome beauty supplies and things the way I want them. I can see them now, and they are not in a big brown box anymore!

We also went to Jo Anne's and got some stuff so I can start scrapbooking all of the things I keep telling Christopher I am going to scrapbook. It is something to keep me busy I guess. Christopher was really excited about it because now he thinks it will keep me busy enough so I won't bother him all of the time. I just bother him because I have nothing better to do since I do not have any friends down here. It gets kind of lonely. Chris wants to play his computer games when he is not working, and I do not have anything to do when he is playing games. I would watch TV, but Lacey broke the cable cord when she ran by it. So, no TV for now. I wish I had some friends down here to hang out with and just go shopping or out to do something with...kind of boring around here. Maybe I will make some friends at chruch today... we'll see...
